Kota Raja Fire and Rescue Station

This stunning Victorian style architecture, built in the 1890s, was used to build the Kota Raja Fire and Rescue Station. It is located next to the bridge on Jalan Tengku Kelana. Gedung Raja Abdullah

The Gedung Raja Abdullah, built in 1857, is a two-story structure constructed of stunning black wood. Raja Abdullah bin Raja Jaafar, the chieftain of Bugis heritage who played a significant role in the growth of Selangor’s tinmining sector, used to reside on the top floor with his family. He kept his weapons and tin on the ground floor, making it a warehouse. Around 1880, the warehouse was converted into a government building and used as the Klang district’s police headquarters. It is known to be one of the oldest buildings in Klang, however, this building houses the tin museum today.

Dato’ Bentara Amar Diraja Mansion

Despite its enormous size, the Dato’ Bentara Amar Diraja Mansion is a modest two-story house that is easy to miss as it lies beside the Chennai Silk Palace. The reputed aristocrat formerly resided in the Dato’ Bentara Amar Diraja Mansion. Wan Muhammad Amin Wan Muhammad Said, a nobleman who held the position of the third “Dato Bentara Kiri Amar Diraja” at the palace, lived in the mansion, which was built in 1910.However, the Japanese army seized control of it during World War II. Former Chartered Bank Building

When The Chartered Bank initially opened its doors in 1874, it became Klang’s first bank. The former Standard Chartered Bank Building, which was built in the early 20th century, housed the third branch of the Chartered Bank of India, Australia & China (now known as the Standard Chartered Bank) in Malaya. he building stands out for its neoclassical architecture and has two balconies on its upper level that overlook the street in front of it. The gateways that mimic carriage houses suggest that this building may have been used for banking operations, and covered footbridges may have connected to an annexe that served as employee quarters and a stable for horses and carriages. The majestic former Chartered Bank Building is now home to a high-end Indian textile store by Chennai Silk company.

Klang Komuter Station

The Klang Komuter Station was opened in 1890 with a history spanning more than a century! Although Klang was not a tin mining location, it has had a significant impact on the history of tin in Malaysia due to its proximity to the port, which aided in the shipping of tin, and the advent of the rail, which greatly reduced travel time. The Old Kota Bridge

The first double-decker bridge in Malaysia is called the Kota Bridge to link Klang North and South. It is located across the Klang River in Klang and it used to be a popular spot for river crossings, but it has since lost some of its appeal. The Kota Bridge was constructed in 1958 until 1960 to span the river after the WWII destruction of Belfield Bridge, and it was later converted to a steel truss girder bridge that has been reinforced. It was opened in 1961 and was officiated by the ninth Sultan of Selangor. The upper deck is hardly ever used these days. However, the bottom deck continues to serve as a crossover for bikers and walkers.

Taman Bandar Diraja & Tugu Keris

Taman Bandar Diraja is a landmark located right in the centre of Klang. Nearby the Simpang Lima Roundabout and Istana Alam Shah, Taman Bandar Diraja is situated on a hill. Due to the abundance of family-friendly activities, this park is ideal for recreational outings and family outings, especially for young children. Besides that, the Tugu Keris a historical landmark located near the Sungai Rasah landmark. It is a huge monument in the shape of a dagger. Klang Convent School

The Klang Convent School was established in 1928, making it 95 years of existence. The Resident of Selangor, Sir William Peel, performed the inauguration of the school on 18th January 1928. Despite being an old school, it has kept its original architectural style with other additional buildings built all around it. Located along Jalan Tengku Kelana beside the Church of Our Lady of Lourdes, it is known as one of the heritage buildings on the Walk that are dedicated to education.

Gurney Memorial Library (Perpustakaan Daerah Klang)

The Gurney Memorial Library, located at Jalan Tengku Kelana, is a library that was built in 1956. The Klang public library was originally located at the Klang train station but it was quite small. The Sir Henry Gurney Memorial Fund had provided some funds to the Klang community who sought a larger library, hence the name - Gurney Memorial Library. Today, it still serves as the public library of the Klang District.
